The star lots from our July sale
It was a very busy sale day last week, with hundreds of eager bidders online and in the saleroom.
The highlight of the toy section was this beautiful late 19th century French doll by Andre Thuillier, which sold for £5,800 to a determined collector and a boxed Pedigree Sindy doll (ref.12955 'Auburn Sindy in Weekenders') with wardrobe, clothing and accessories sold for £460.
We continue to get great results for our watch lots, with this Longines 18ct yellow gold gentlemen's manual-wind wristwatch bringing £600 and a 1920s silver-cased Rolex officer's watch selling for £520.
In our art section, this print of Louise Brooks by Frank Martin sold for £920 and another of his prints featuring Vilma Banky sold for £440.
Our coins section also performed well, with this set of five Isle of Man half sovereigns bringing £520 and another coin collection including Royal Mint proof sets for 2009, 2010 and 2011, Queen's Portrait 2008 set, full set of twenty-nine London 2012 Olympic Sports Collection 50 pence pieces etc, which also sold for £520.
Our next auction is Antiques and Collectors' Items, on Wednesday 1st August 2018 at 10.00, with viewing on Tuesday 31st July from 10.00-20.00. The deadline for consignment for this auction is Wednesday 18th July.
